 Collaboration and shared learning:

This week I have taken some time to consider the value of reflecting and collaborative learning online and in class activity. I realise I am looking at different members of the groups postings and leaving some brief comments weekly and whilst making comments that I hope to be  encouraging and supportive  I am not sure if my comments are structured adequately to support the building of knowledge and learning in the group.  Vygotsky describes the need for interaction and collaboration in learning with strategies that engage learners in communication and social dialogue. Vygotsky believes dialogue is essential and that learners working in collaborative groups builds deeper understanding through scaffolding and sharing of thought and ideas with others.

During the last five weeks I have comment on group member's blogs weekly  and in an attempt to  build understanding about the weekly topics I have located information and links from current online journals and web sites. To share and build understanding of the issues discussed in class and in the readings. I have created a group of followers for the higher education group and have developed this blog with pages to cover the weekly tasks however additional information is posted in the blog and  goggle +. This sharing online is interesting and builds a shared learning culture that is purposeful through the postings and comments shared with others in the group (Vygotsky, 1978, p. 102).
